Too much to do.
Unfocused.
Working hard and harder, but probably not smarter.
Unmotivated.
SOMEbody has to do all the tedious tasks that must be done. But why does that somebody have to be me?
Tired, tired, tired.
Stressed, stressed, stressed.

So, in the interest of self-distraction, I'm providing a Spiritual Gifts Poll:
1. What is/are your primary spiritual gift(s)? Secondary (if any)?
2. How did you discover it/them?
3. Do other people recognize these gifts in you? Do they urge you to use them in service to God and His Kingdom?
4. How do your gifts impact you, yourself? What do you appreciate about them? Do you wish you had different gifts?
5. Do you think gifts can change, over the years? How do you think they relate to personalities and non-spiritual gifts and abilities?

I have a practical reason for wondering, of course, but I also think it is an interesting topic. Please reply!

Nobody cares about spiritual gifts, I see. Well, at any rate, I KNOW that Blogger is crazy. Check out the weird and random switches of font in my post!

I care about spiritual gifts, but I have no clue what mine is. Administration, maybe?

Hmmm.

I'll play along Deb...

1. What is/are your primary spiritual gift(s)? Secondary (if any)?

Administration/Teaching.

2. How did you discover it/them?

Took an online survey...but pretty much knew.

3. Do other people recognize these gifts in you?

Yes. although they are mostly applied in the corporate world.

Do they urge you to use them in service to God and His Kingdom?

Some do...some don't. Depends on who you ask.

4. How do your gifts impact you, yourself?

Nominally. I use them when applicable.

What do you appreciate about them?

They are so ingrained in who I am I can hardly differentiate. :)

Do you wish you had different gifts?

No.

5. Do you think gifts can change, over the years?

depends on the personal desires of the individual...but I would say no. I have no desire to preach...unless that is something placed on my heart, I don't see that gift developing.

How do you think they relate to personalities and non-spiritual gifts and abilities?

It ties to your whole personality. My professional talents feed my gifts and vv. My outside talents enhance my administrative capabilities since I've tackled projects of a similar scope if not of the same scale.

Melissa-- You don't know what your gifts are? A good way to make a guess is to think about what you like to do that makes you the happiest, and relate that to serving God. Okay, well, easier said than done, maybe, but still...

Ojan-- I agree that administration and teaching would be your most likely spiritual gifts!

Ok, I'll take courage from other people posting their gifts.

1. Knowledge/Wisdom and some stuff for dealing with demons and spirits and such. Yes, that is why I hesitated to post mine first. I have some other ones, too, but those are the strongest.

2. I kind of figured out the first because of the way people talk about the things I say. I figured out the second when I had to deal with the spiritual realm more than once. It makes sense if I think about my childhood.

In all fairness, I did hit up the online surveys to double-check the wisdom thing. I hate claiming my own wisdom.

3. Yes. That's how I found out about the first, and how I know I'm not just letting my imagination run away with me for the second one.

I have had a few people suggest I take up counselling others because of the wisdom. Um, not so much for the spirit stuff, but I don't usually need any urging when it comes up.

4. I try and sharpen and use them whereever/whenever I can. I appreciate how they allow God to use me in diverse and tough situations. I'm glad I have them, and even moreso that God is with me when I do, particularly when things get tense or rough.

5. *shrugs* I'm sure if God sees fit to switch them around in the middle of someone's life, then He can do it, though in my (admittedly limited) experience, if the person truly demonstrates said gift, they seem to keep it for the duration of their life.
